2021’s milestones were surrounded by the everyday achievements that allow Redwood to live out its mission and vision.  

The Redwood experience is rooted in a robust commitment to resident appreciation.

Redwood strives to make residents feel at home every day. The on-site neighborhood teams ensure that residents are put at ease and catered to right from the very start.
And the outstanding service doesn’t stop there. It’s a commitment whether someone is considering a Redwood apartment home, is a longtime resident, or anywhere in between.
Whether addressing resident needs with compassion and efficiency, or providing memorable gifts to make residents feel appreciated, Redwood team members continued to provide first-class customer service while fostering a sense of community.
Many Redwood neighborhoods were inspired to come together as a community to give back, holding charity drives to benefit local nonprofits and generating an extraordinary number of donations.

For example, Redwood neighborhoods from the Columbus region donated 1,900 pounds of food to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank and three truckloads of donations to the CHA Pet Shelter. Neighborhoods from one of the Northeast Ohio regions helped donate 2,200 pounds of food to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.

Giving back also took the form of time for Redwood and its employees in 2021, thanks to a new benefit: Volunteer Time Off (VTO).

With VTO, employees were able to use eight hours of personal VTO and 16 hours of company VTO, which added up to days of making a difference. 

For instance, the Redwood Columbus region partnered with the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium to assist with the annual ‘Stuff the Truck’ event, held to support the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. The event allows guests free admission to the zoo if they bring six non-perishable food items.

The human resources team helped sort books at the Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank, and one of the Northeast Ohio regions volunteered at the Akron-Canton Food Bank.

Redwood also held a “penny war” fundraiser at its corporate office, raising $2,573 for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, which in turn supplied 10,300 meals for families in need.

And the company continued its One Tree Planted initiative, planting 6,500 trees on behalf of each new employee, resident and investor in 2021.

In August, Redwood celebrated the official opening of its 32,000-square-foot corporate headquarters office in Independence, Ohio. Redwood looks to growth and expansion in 2022, with plans to build new neighborhoods, hire more team members and welcome new residents.
