Redwood Apartment Neighborhoods News
It’s a fact that industries across the spectrum have abruptly made drastic changes to adjust to conditions caused by the COVID-19 crisis. And while some of these changes will be for the short-term, what’s not yet known are the long-term effects and societal shifts that will come about once the pandemic ends.
Independence-based developer and owner of single-story neighborhoods of apartment homes, Redwood Living Inc. (Redwood), believes what was once important to some renters is likely to change in a number of ways.
Common Areas
The mindset of many renters could likely shift toward finding homes that offer a community feel without having to come in close contact with neighbors. That means limiting (if not completely eliminating) the need for shared entrances, stairwells, hallways, elevators, etc. Historically favored amenities such as on-site gyms, community rooms/clubhouses and pools may take a back seat to health-conscious rental features such as private entrances that allow for easy and secure deliveries, in-suite laundry and designated attached or protected parking.
Space to Spread Out
In addition to a need for more private space, renters living in cramped downtown/metro areas may be ready for more space in general. Additional square footage and open floor plans allow residents more flexibility to work from home, dedicate space inside their apartment home for personal workout equipment, accommodate their pets and stock up on supplies without the concern about storage space.
The Great Outdoors
Renters that find themselves spending more time at home may need more space not just inside their apartment, but also more breathing room outside. They are likely to seek a property that feels more like its own neighborhood – where apartments have personal private patios, there is green space for recreational activities and walking trails are easily accessible.
Redwood is watching and listening to important market indicators about the future of real estate rentals. With multiple new single-story apartment rental neighborhood projects underway serving communities across the Midwest and East Coast, the company is preparing to serve thousands of new residents based on today’s evolving market trends in rental living.
Currently, Redwood owns and manages over 10,000 apartment homes in nearly 100 neighborhoods throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina and South Carolina. Redwood’s signature single-story apartments with attached garages and private entrances are situated in welcoming, green-centric neighborhood settings that provide residents all the comforts of home plus the conveniences of a maintenance-free lifestyle.
